Region VI Case Management

HRDF Career Planners provide basic and individualized career services, and follow-up services, and may include training. These services are provided in an integrated manner for all individuals who are enrolled through WIOA. The intent is to professionally and resourcefully help participants navigate through the One Stop System and to develop a plan that will lead to suitable employment and a career pathway. 

HRDF Career Planners coordinate and implement the provision of services for WIOA eligible Adults, Dislocated Workers, Out-of-School Youth, and employers who reside or do business in: Barbour, Braxton, Doddridge, Gilmer, Harrison, Lewis, Marion, Monongalia, Preston, Randolph, Taylor, Tucker, and Upshur counties. 

Basic career services include, but not be limited to:
  • eligibility determination;
  • initial assessment of skill levels (literacy, numeracy, English language proficiency, aptitudes, abilities/skill gaps), including support needs;
  • provision of job search/placement assistance, career counseling, in demand occupations/industry sectors, non-traditional employment, workshops, career fairs;
  • referrals and coordination of activities within the One Stop system and other workforce programs;
  • employment statistics for the labor market areas;
  • job vacancy listings, Information on skill requirements for occupations, local occupations in demand, earnings and skills requirements for jobs and opportunities for advancement;
  • performance and cost information on eligible training providers of the area (including education, training and workforce services);
  • information on the availability of support services;
  • and, information on establishing eligibility for financial aid in training and education.
