Human Resource Development Foundation, Inc. (HRDF) was incorporated in 1967, as a social arm of the WV AFL-CIO, for the purpose of providing economically disadvantaged West Virginians opportunities for self-sufficiency and improved living conditions.
HRDF, one of the largest non-profit organizations in West Virginia, and its sister corporations Human Resource Development and Employment, Inc. (HRDE) and Unity Housing, Inc. have continually met this mission by successfully assisting thousands of West Virginians through advocacy, empowerment and the successful administration of a wide variety of employment, occupational skill training and educational programs along with almost 1000 units of subsidized housing for elderly, financially disadvantaged and disabled individuals.
As mission driven organizations, HRDF and its sister corporations continually develop multitudes of new and innovative approaches to assist the states’ disadvantaged through federally and state funded programs and through the development of extensive networks and collaborative efforts with other agencies, organizations, and private sector businesses throughout WV. Central to HRDF’s success, is the belief that knowledge, support, and opportunity are the keys to empowering the underprivileged residents of West Virginia.
