What is the YouthReady Program?
Services include a variety of the 14 basic elements relating to education and employment towards self-sufficiency. Youth, ages 16-24, receive stipends for time, wages for work experience, and Supportive Services including assistance with transportation and incentives for credentials and/or marking gains towards increased academics and employment.
Eligibility
Must be between the age of 16-24, not attending any school, and meet at least one of the following:

- School dropout
- Youth who has not attended school for the most recent completed school year calendar quarter
- Recipient of a secondary school diploma or its equivalent who is a low-income individual and is basic skills deficient or an English language learner
- Individual in the juvenile or adult justice system
- Homeless individual
- Runaway
- In foster care or has aged out of the foster care system
- A child eligible for assistance under section 477 of the Social Security Act, or in an out-of-home placement
- Pregnant or parenting
- A youth with a disability
- A low-income individual who requires additional assistance to enter or complete an education program or to secure or hold employment
Supportive Services Offered
Training-Related Needs-Based Payments.
Youth receive a $5.00 per hour training- related needs-based payment for each hour spent in classroom training or unpaid work activities, such as: Occupational Exploration, internships, and community services.
TASC Attainment Incentive
Youth receive a $100.00 incentive for receiving their TASC. Successful completion will be documented by the attainment of a diploma.
Measurable Gains Bonus
Youth receive bonuses for increasing their TABE levels, receiving a promotion at work, completing additional certificates, obtaining their driver's license...and other steps that lead to self-sufficiency.
Additional Assistance
The program covers costs associated with testing, certification and lab fees. Staff can assist with resources needed to go to work, such as specialized tools or clothing.
