Human Resource Development Foundation, Inc. (HRDF) was incorporated in 1967, as a social arm of the West Virginia AFL-CIO, for the purpose of providing economically disadvantaged West Virginians opportunities for self-sufficiency and improved living conditions. HRDF, one of the largest non-profit organizations in West Virginia, has continuously met this mission by successfully assisting thousands of West Virginians through advocacy, empowerment, and the successful administration of a wide variety of employment, occupational skill training and educational programs. As a mission driven organization, HRDF continually develops multitudes of new and innovative approaches to assist the states disadvantaged through federally and state funded programs and through the development of extensive networks and collaborative efforts with other agencies, organizations, and private sector businesses throughout the state.
Currently, HRDF’s employment and training initiatives focus on the provision of services to disadvantaged youth, the ex-offender population, and dislocated workers. These services are provided through an array of programs funded by the United States Department of Labor, WorkForce WV, West Virginia Workforce Development Boards 2, 3, and 4, West Virginia Bureau of Senior Services, and the West Virginia Department of Human Services.
